Practice Manager: Business Technology Consulting
Job Summary
This role provides direction, leadership and exposure to the assigned Practice group; Personally performs activities in people management, sales support, new client acquisition, delivery management and business/operations management with a practice focus around Business relation to technology.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Business Technology Practice operations (P&L; revenue; margins; headcounts & business growth).
- Provide direction and support to service owners within the Business Technology Group.
- Manage resources of the Business Technology Practice.
- Continuously update existing delivery frameworks and create new frameworks as required.
- Create/ensure timely and accurate revenue forecasts from the practice.
- Align closely with the sales team, contributes to collaborative account planning, pre-sales support, account administration, vice support and customer satisfaction.
- Review and support client project proposals for consulting services.
- Motivate, identify and recognize desired levels of staff performance within the Practice.
- Ensure effective adoption of everse strategy within the practice.
- Generate $1 million in direct revenue during first 12 months.
- Work closely with the alliance manager to identify and target alliance partners.
- Ensure proper adoption of everse processes and procedures within the practice.
- Measure and formally report Practice effectiveness to the senior management on a quarterly basis.
- Establish and implement knowledge management and knowledge sharing frameworks within the practice.
- Conduct performance reviews for the practice staff on a yearly basis.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.S. Degree a must, M.B.A. preferred.
- 10-15 years technical/business consulting management experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience managing and growing a practice.
- A thorough understanding of the consulting services business.
- Ability to delegate effectively is a must.
- Proven experience in translating strategy into tactical execution through clear objectives, prioritization and task distribution is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve project conflicts.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
- Previous experience facilitating cross-functional and/or cross-practice team activities.
- Previous record of closing business larger than $1 million through alliances.
- Ability and willingness to provide timely and effective feedback to senior management and staff.
- Ability to prepare narrative plans and budgets in response to corporate requirements.
- Previous experience working in a global virtual team environment.
