Project Manager - CMM Level 4/5 - New York City
Job Summary
This position is responsible for executing work packs, managing project schedules, marshalling resources, managing project level risks, and performing technical reviews.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the project delivery team from inception to formation to execution of day-to-day project work schedules.
- Works with Director of deliveries to construct and submit workplace proposals and responses to RFPs.
- Defines and prepares project work and execution plans.
- Executes and monitors projects.
- Ensures adherence to delivery schedules and quality processes.
- Pays special attention to the successful completion of tasks and the adherence to standards.
- Oversees various technical projects of a highly complex nature.
- Defines project team organization, allocates tasks to team members, and monitors execution.
- Ensures stability of human resources.
- Works within guidelines, technological strategic goals, and other IT policies and procedures.

- Is accountable for knowledge management during the project.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Computer Science, IT, Engineering, etc.) with eight to ten years of professional experience. MBA degree is desirable.
- Professional technical certifications are highly desirable.
- 5 to 7 years of technical and team management experience in a progressive software services organization.
- 5 or more years experience in a project management role.
- Highly knowledgeable about project management tools and methodologies at various levels.
- Able to handle pressure situations.
- Detailed experience writing proposals, assessing timelines, and preparing schedules.
- Working in an SEI-CMM level 4/5 environment is a must.
- Expert knowledge of office productivity tools (MS-Office, MS-project, etc.) is necessary.
- Expert knowledge of, and experience with, project management tools (Rational Rose, UML, OOAD, etc.) is highly desirable.

- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent decision-making and situational analysis abilities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to interface effectively and decisively with other units, departments, and customers.
