Project Management
Project Manager - CMM Level 4/5 - New York City

Job Summary

This position is responsible for executing work packs, managing project schedules, marshalling resources, managing project level risks, and performing technical reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the project delivery team from inception to formation to execution of day-to-day project work schedules.
  • Works with Director of deliveries to construct and submit workplace proposals and responses to RFPs.
  • Defines and prepares project work and execution plans.
  • Executes and monitors projects.
  • Ensures adherence to delivery schedules and quality processes.
  • Pays special attention to the successful completion of tasks and the adherence to standards.
  • Oversees various technical projects of a highly complex nature.
  • Defines project team organization, allocates tasks to team members, and monitors execution.
  • Ensures stability of human resources.
  • Works within guidelines, technological strategic goals, and other IT policies and procedures.
  • Works within guidelines, technological strategic goals, and other IT policies and procedures.
  • Is accountable for knowledge management during the project.
Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Computer Science, IT, Engineering, etc.) with eight to ten years of professional experience. MBA degree is desirable.
  • Professional technical certifications are highly desirable.
  • 5 to 7 years of technical and team management experience in a progressive software services organization.
  • 5 or more years experience in a project management role.
  • Highly knowledgeable about project management tools and methodologies at various levels.
  • Able to handle pressure situations.
  • Detailed experience writing proposals, assessing timelines, and preparing schedules.
  • Working in an SEI-CMM level 4/5 environment is a must.
  • Expert knowledge of office productivity tools (MS-Office, MS-project, etc.) is necessary.
  • Expert knowledge of, and experience with, project management tools (Rational Rose, UML, OOAD, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to serve as an effective role model.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent decision-making and situational analysis abilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively and decisively with other units, departments, and customers.
  • Goal oriented.
