everse and Knott’s Launch the Resort’s New Multi–Destination Portal

LOS ANGELES, June 21, 2002 – Today, everse corporation (everse), a technology consulting, software development, and application outsourcing company, and Knott’s Southern California Resort (Knott’s), America’s first theme park, announced the launch of the resort’s new multi–destination portal. The portal and the applications it includes help the resort market and sell tickets to its entire family of properties, including Knott’s Theme Park, California Marketplace, Soak City U.S.A., Oasis water parks, and the Radisson Resort Knott’s Berry Farm hotel.

The Knott’s project engaged everse’s Application Design & Development service and Enterprise Portal Services. Through its Application Design & Development service, everse brought to the project the technical expertise, software development discipline, process–centric methodology, and feedback–oriented change management necessary to provide rapid delivery of application function while minimizing project risks and costs. Leveraging its Enterprise Portal expertise, everse helped Knott’s integrate information from a multitude of sources to create a central, organized knowledge network for the resort’s diverse target audiences.

To develop the functionality and streamline the administration of the new Knott’s portal, everse integrated several custom–built and third–party applications. everse created a registration application to facilitate enrollment and capture user information for Knott’s targeted e–mail campaigns and direct marketing programs. In addition, everse integrated a third–party eCommerce application to expedite ticket purchasing and processing for the resort’s multiple properties. To enable Knott’s to update the information and promotions on the portal quickly and easily, everse developed a custom content management system.

The new Knott’s portal and applications provide the resort with a centralized channel to communicate the appeal of, and increase ticket sales for, its entire group of facilities and attractions. The portal increases the visibility of Knott’s newly remodeled accommodations and expands its market penetration beyond Southern California, while the eCommerce functionality helps boost traffic to all of its properties. Together, the portal and applications serve as a dynamic and direct sales and marketing tool for the resort.

According to everse Engagement Manager, Mark Cavicchia, “In the new Knott’s portal, everse and Knott’s have developed a strategic digital channel to increase the resort’s brand awareness, market reach, and customer touchpoints. We look forward to helping Knott’s continue to evolve the portal to enhance the value it provides the resort’s properties and their past, present, and future visitors.“
