everse Presents at Metering, Billing, CRM/CIS Americas 2003 Conference

LOS ANGELES, May 12, 2003 – everse corporation (everse), a technology consulting, software development, and application outsourcing company, was a featured presenter at the Metering, Billing, CRM/CIS Americas 2003 Conference held May 4–8 in Chicago, Illinois. Mark Cavicchia, Engagement Manager at everse, was a panelist in a “Think Tank Discussion“ titled, “Connecting the future of metering, billing, CRM/CIS in the customer revolution“.

Through instructor–led workshops, focused pre–conference seminars, and a multi–track program, the Metering, Billing, CRM/CIS Americas Conference provides participants with the opportunity to explore the new customer service and payment concepts, environmental drivers, demand response initiatives, and technologies being blended into dynamic new approaches to metering, billing, and CRM/CIS in the utility industry.

The “Connecting the future“ discussion focused on how utilities are adapting to the shift in power from institutions to individuals and how they are utilizing the connected future to innovate response to customer demands. In addition to Mark Cavicchia, the panel also included Jim Hanson, Wireless Data Solutions Manager, Motorola; Dr. Howard Scott, Managing Partner, Cognyst Consulting; Kellogg L. Warner, Executive Vice President, KEMA Consulting; and Robert Wolpert, President Billing Services, National Water and Power.

everse was invited to present insights gained providing technology consulting, software development, and application outsourcing to companies in the utility industry at the “Connecting the future“ discussion. The enterprise portals and energy–related software everse has created for Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Southern California Edison, and California Energy Connection are excellent examples of the innovative customer service, payment, and demand response initiatives the Metering, Billing, CRM/CIS Americas Conference explores.

During the panel discussion, Mark discussed the ways in which the Internet has become an important source of information and a preferred means of bill payment not only for younger utility customers, but for customers in the 45–64–year–old age group. He described the evolution of a successful CRM initiative from attracting to retaining to rewarding customers. He discussed the challenges to successful CRM deployments and the potential benefits to marketing, sales, and customer service units. Finally, Mark discussed the multiple touchpoints utilized by internal and external audiences and the future state in which those touchpoints will be integrated to provide a utility with 360º views of its customers.

“The opportunities available to utilities to innovate new metering, billing, and CRM/CIS channels are numerous and often untapped,“ said Mark. “The goal of the Metering, Billing, CRM/CIS Americas conference – and the ’Connecting the future’ panel discussion in particular – is to promote that innovation.“
